I love this little mower, which is good for both my waistline and carbon footprint! I’m glad I got the small, light, 14″ model – otherwise it would have been way too heavy to operate on my steeply sloping Appalachian mountainside yard and too wide to maneuver around ancient trees with knobby roots, etc.

Mower pluses:
- easy to assemble
- sharp blade reel is adjustable to height
- good for the environment, plus it is noiseless and won’t disturb the neighbors
- better exercise than any gym workout
- a conversation opener in the neighborhood: It will be the first time your neighbors’ kids will have seen a manual mower and they’ll think it’s way cool! They’ll want to try it out (let them)

Mower minuses:
- it’s entirely manual, and thus not good to operate if you have a chronic health condition
- not ideal for rough lawns or huge yards (however a reel mower would be ideal for a small, level yard with roll-out turf on a lakefront property, etc.)
- Even tiny twigs in the yard can jam the whirling reel blades
- the cut is only as good as the velocity you keep the blades whirling (this is why a reel mover isn’t good for edging)
- unable to cut very high grass or tough weeds (if you don’t trim your lawn at least once a week, a reel mower is not for you)

Tip: Keep your yard clean of debris and ask your neighbors if you can borrow their power mower for the initial mow in the spring. Afterward, using this reel mower will be a breeze!

We’d really let the lawn go. When we tried to use our old Craftsman 6.0 gas lawnmower, it made noises like ball bearings were spinning around inside the engine. And, of course, it spat out a horrid amount of smoke. Seemed like the time to finally consider going green.

After much online research and then thoroughly checking out the items we could find locally (the sales people were truly surprised at just how thoroughly we went about this!), we decided on the Worx Eco.

Before I started to cut the worst of the grass, I had one of my daughters hold a tape measure so we could see just how high the worst tufts of lawn were (22 to 28 inches!). Then I mowed a swath and took more pictures.

The mower never choked on any of the grass, though there were times it did slow way down; when that happened, I backed off a bit and let the blade spin up to speed before going forward again. The mower never stalled.

I went back over it at my preferred height and now the lawn looks great. I’ve been able to mow our entire yard three times and the battery still shows full on its one charge.

I couldn’t be happier.

This mower was much better than what I ever could have hoped for. I left my 6.5 HP Craftsman mower in Missouri when I moved. I liked that mower, but using this is much better. I may be the motor behind this reel mower, but with only about 25 pounds to push around, it seems just as easy as pushing my old one around that had a motor on it.

Handling Hills:
I was concerned before getting it by the reviews that said it may be hard to get up hills. My back yard is level with with the basement floor and I push this mower up the side yard hill to the front yard with ease. It is just that light.

Handling Twigs:
I was also concerned by the reviews that said any twig will stop it dead in its tracks. I have alot of twigs, but most are thin. The mower has no problem chopping up twigs up to the thickness of a pencil. And, if a larger twig gets stuck, I just back up and kick it out.

Adjusting Mowing Height:
The other thing I wasn’t sure I would like is adjusting the mowing height. When I read you had to undo bolts, remove them and put them back, I thought, Oh no. But, removing the bolts takes no tools. If you are familiar with removing a quick release tire on the front of a bicycle, adjusting the mowing height is at least that easy. In any case, it is just as easy as adjusting the height on my old gas mower.
Anyway, I have rarely been so pleased with a purchase. I got this for $90 at Amazon, and that is a great deal. I looked all over for different kinds of reel mowers. The Brill may be better, because it is a little lighter and does not need to be sharpened ever, but I sure did not want to pay 4-6 times as much. As for sharpening, I doubt that I will have to have this mower sharpened as often as I had to have my old gas mower tuned up. As for other reel mowers, they are all heavier. What is so great about this mower is that its light weight makes mowing with it at least as easy as with a gas push mower. The only thing that could be better is for a wider cut, but then you would get more weight, and I don’t want that because I have had back and shoulder pain in the past and am of slight build.

I bought a new house and saw that everyone else in the neighborhood had a riding lawnmower. Having a small yard with not much to mow, in the past, I was not looking forward to spending at least 2 hours a week sitting on my [back] driving around in circles. I started looking for “high speed” riding movers but the cost was astronomical.

(…)
The mower and docking station arrived, from Amazon, in 2 large boxes. Installation and set-up was easily enough and I was “mowing” the front yard the next day. I had the mower set to MAX time but the lawn looked pretty well mowed after about 2 ½ hours. Now in the back yard (much larger area) the grass was long, wet, and has a long slope in it so the mower ran less than 3 hours before it returned to its dock. The lawn looked about 90% done. I was fairly satisfied with that being it is going out again today at 4:00 PM to finish up. “It mows, you don’t”. Love that!

The only thing I did that took a bit more time for the initial set-up was bury the perimeter wire, in high visibility areas. I did not like looking at the green line. I found this to be quite easy once I taped the “robo ruler” to a lawn edger I already own. I could then easily look down at the ruler and use it as a guide for the 1 inch deep little trench I dug with the edger.

Things that impressed me: There are no “clumps” of grass even when it was mowing during the rain storm. It mows in the rain. It even pulled itself out of a little mud puddle that had formed once it realized it had no more traction in that direction. The speed at which the blades come to a complete stop (< 1 second) if it runs into something while you are manually mowing or you pick up the front.

Negative comments: If you like pretty “lines” in your lawn, this mower is not for you. All your friends and neighbors will ask you questions and/or make fun of you. I suggest you tell them what I tell them, “You do not manually was your clothes. You probably do not hand wash all of your dishes. Why would you WANT to mow your lawn?”

This drill is exactly what I was looking for, small, relatively light, and has lots of power. The light onthe front is a great feature and the one handed chuck is great. It also uses my 18v XBR batteries as well…a nice feature if you are going to take it out somewhere.

While I’m not a tradesman, I do a lot os DIY rojects and the old cordless was dying, so I baought this unit. It came with two batteries, which meant aI didn’t have to buy the second right away. It’s more versatile than the old one, especially because it’s a ½-inch drill, so I can use the larger bits I couldn’t on the old unit. The other advantage with this drill is the size: I can get at things in tighter quarters (like in shelf spaces) to drill and drive screws. Just couldn’t do that with the bigger or corded drills.

Exactly what i was looking for. Good power. comfortable grip. I love the light feature. What a nice idea. You press the trigger and you have instant light where you need it! The battery last a long time. Very pleased.

Product Description

Amazon.com
The Char-Broil Big Easy oil-less infared turkey fryer represents the next step forward in utilizing infared style cooking. This patented technology takes the mess and hassle out of cooking a perfect turkey (up to 16 lbs.) or other large cut of meat (chickens, pork tenderloings, or beef roasts). With no hot cooking oil to purchase, splatter, or dispose of, the Char-Broil Big Easy is the delcious, safe and easy alternative to oil-fried turkey. Cooking is done inside a double-wall cylindrical cooking chamber, powered by a fullly enclosed propane burner. Char Broil’s patented Heat Wave infard technology delivers juicy, crisp, flavorful results every time. Your favorite marinades can be injected and even dry rubs and sauces can be used for added flavor.

Delicious

Ask anyone to describe food prepared inside The Big Easy and “juicy” is the first word you’re likely to hear – followed by tender, moist, and flavorful. Instead of oil, the infrared heat penetrates the meat evenly and seals the juices inside. The result is a bird that’s moist inside and crispy outside—just as fried turkey should be.

Turkeys cooked in The Big Easy are prepared the same way as in traditional fryers and can be injected with marinades. However, The Big Easy allows for the use of rubs and seasoning flavor to be used on the outside, which can wash away with traditional turkey fryers. A removable drip pan located underneath The Big Easy heating chamber catches all the bird’s flavorful juices, allowing cooks to retain the essential ingredients of homemade gravy for further preparation on the stovetop.

A healthy alternative to oil frying, the Char-Broil Big Easy actually does more than just fry turkeys—it can also safely cook chicken, pork tenderloin, beef roast and most large cuts of meat up to 16 pounds, all in about eight to 10 minutes per pound. Doneness is determined not by cook time, but by the turkey’s internal temperature, which is safely measured using a meat thermometer, included with The Big Easy.

Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Horizon MCS 100 5.1-Channel Speaker System Takes the Complexity Out of Home Theater

With the same Deep Channel® Design (DCD) woofers and soft-dome tweeters found in all Boston Acoustics Horizon speakers, this MCS 100 speaker system is an ideal solution for getting great sound in any room. The satellites are equipped with 3-inch mid bass driver and .75-inch soft dome tweeter as well as Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design (RBDD) for wider, smoother sound dispersion. Add the included 8″, 100-watt powered subwoofer and you’ve got a system that’s music to your ears.

Technology is Key

All Horizon speakers share certain key technologies. They all use 1-inch Kortec® soft dome tweeters, for smooth, extended high frequency response out to 25kHz. The woofers feature Deep Channel® Design, or DCD, providing increased bass output without the risk of bottoming out. The woofers all have phase plugs for smoother midrange response and increased power handling. With Horizon, Boston introduces RBDD which stands for Reduced Baffle Diffraction Design. The result is wider and smoother dispersion and more life-like sound. Please click on the hyperlink to learn more. Finally, these models feature MagnaGuard® video shielding, making them safe for use near any type of display.

Features to Please

All Horizon speakers share certain key features. They all have a racetrack shaped, rear port that is flared on both ends. The shape helps reduce the footprint of the port, taking up less room on the back of the speaker. The combination of the flared opening on both ends of the port tube and its rear location virtually eliminates chuffing, or audible port noise. They all have 5-way binding posts to accommodate the use of any thickness of speaker wire or style of termination. They all come with an adjustable footing, allowing them to sit securely on a flat surface either vertically or horizontally and to be angled toward the listening position. They all have an integrated keyhole for quick and easy wall mounting. The keyhole and standoffs on the back of the speaker keep it far enough off the wall to not block the port, maintaining the sound quality that the Boston engineers intended they have. They all feature a soft-touch finish, giving them an elegant high-end appearance and terrific feel.

By sfchris

Summary: Just buy the cheapest Oral-B ProfessionalCare model you can find on the market and you will get all of the wonderful teeth cleaning the reviewers here have been raving about without wasting money on useless features.

Review:
I bought this one after the unreplaceable battery on my Oral B 3d Excel (older equivalent of the ProfessionalCare 5000) failed on me. After comparing the two, I have decided that the cheapest ProfessionalCare model they offer which costs half the price had all the features I really needed.

The key features for me are:
* Rechargeable – everything from ProfessionalCare 5000 on up is rechargeable
* High speed 3d oscilations – ALL of their models from the ProfessionalCare 5000 on up have the same rotating speed and they all do side to side and front to back movents!
* Needs to supports all brush heads – Aside from their incompatible sonic line, all their brushes support all their brush heads. I bought the Triumph mainly because I liked the idea of their FlossAction head, and on their web site they claim that it only works with the Triumph. THIS IS INCORRECT. The floss action head works with all their models!!!!!! They claim the triumph brush detects a “smart chip” in the flossaction head that causes it to modify the way the motor works, but all it does is restrict you to the most powerful setting. I tried the Flossaction head on my cheaper 3d excel and it works just fine.

All the other features of the triumph are no big deal – the display screen to tell you the charge, etc. All that stuff is not worth paying twice the price to me.

Features they tout as unique to the Triumph that I don’t care about:

* Multiple cleaning speeds – unless you have incredibly sensitive gums, you will just use the maximum speed every day.
* LCD display – You can’t see it when you are brushing anyway. When you are done it tells you exactly how many minutes you brushed. Who cares about that? The pulse warning after 2 minutes during the brushing (on all their models) tells you that anyway. And it’s pretty easy to remember to stick the thing in the charger once a week… you don’t need an LCD display with the exact charge. That’s overkill.
*FlossAction support – This is a great brush head but as I said above, this works in all their models even though they claim it does not.

They need to justify a higher price so they just packed on features that don’t mean much… my advice is just to get the cheapest ProfessionalCare brush model you can find and it will be just as good.

On top of all this, the Triumph display screen requires a bigger battery and is heavier, which is a slight annoyance.

Go to oralb dot com website where they do a comparison of the features of all their models. Keep in mind that their statement that the Flossaction only works on the triumph is incorrect.

What a toothbrush! Honestly, it really is awesome! It feels like a dentist visit every morning and night, and sometimes in between The strength of this brush is just amazing. It is a strong, forceful (but not harsh) clean. I love the option of the 2 minute timer. It also has a “professional timer” which is also a 2 minute timer, but pulsates every 30 seconds to change quadrants of your mouth, to endure that you get the best possible clean.
It comes with a 30 day money back guarantee, so you have nothing to lose! You won’t believe the feeling and the look of your teeth after only a few days of using this brush!
I love the Flossing head brushes! They are great!
